Tea Lady Online
Fine tea deserves to be presented in a nice teapot!
But where do I get a decent teapot? Wal-Mart or Bloomingdales?

We like to think we fill the gap between!
|
We revived our ceramic skills and set up our own studio here
in West Michigan.
We cast our teapots using purchased molds and as well as
some molds we adapted ourself.
This green-ware is then fired at 1960 degrees for several
hours. Now the pieces are called bisque.
Now comes the fun part!
Creating patterns and designs.
Each teapot is totally unique.
All design work is done
free-hand. We never use
stencils or inked patterns.
We do not use "out of the jar" glazes. All colors
are blended from a few base concentrates.
This gives us maximum flexibility to create the
desired color and texture.
Our over-glazes are also custom blended
allowing us finishes from matt to super-high
gloss .
Now back to the kilns!
This firing is a bit
cooler...just a mere 1850
degrees!
This firing vitrifies the
glazes creating a durable
and food-safe finish.
